First solar power plant biding in the Middle East

Korea has successfully installed its first large-scale solar power project in Oman. A 500-megawatt (MW) solar power plant was installed in Mana, Oman. The Mana Solar Power Plant in Oman is located 170km southwest of Muscat, the capital of Oman, and is a large-scale solar power plant with a total project cost of $600 million. After its installation, Korea will also be in charge of the maintenance and management (O&M) of the Mana Solar Power Plant in Oman.

2023 Solar Power Project Award Winner

The project was recognized internationally for its value, winning the Project of the Year Award in the Middle East and North Africa Renewable Energy category at the ‘IJ Global Awards 2023’ held in the United Arab Emirates in April last year. Following the Oman Mana Project, Korea is expanding its position in the Middle East renewable energy market by also winning the 1.5GW Ajban Solar Power Plant project in the United Arab Emirates. The completion of the Mana Solar Power Plant in Oman is a meaningful achievement that proves Korea’s outstanding technological prowess and competitiveness.
